POLICE NETS FIRST GUN BAN VIOLATOR IN ECIJA
NUEVA ECIJA POLICE PROVINCIAL OFFICE. Nueva Ecija police arrested its first “violator” for COMELEC Gun Ban during a checkpoint operation in Brgy. Poblacion East, Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija Wednesday evening, January 13, 2022.
In the report submitted to PCOL JESS B MENDEZ, Acting Provincial Director, NEPPO, at around 7:45 PM, joint elements of 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company and Pantabangan PS led by PCPT WILSON D KIMMAYONG, ACOP while conducting COMELEC Checkpoint along Pantabangan-Baler Road, Barangay East Poblacion, Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija flagged down a 57-year old resident of East Poblacion, aforesaid municipality on board a black BAJAJ CT 100.
Accordingly, upon visual inspection, suspect was carrying an Armscor Cal .45 Pistol with 19 live ammunitions for said caliber. Verification revealed that the suspect has no Firearms License, Permit to Carry Firearms Outside Residence (PTCFOR), and/or COMELEC Certificate of Authority to Carry said firearm.
Suspect is now under the custody of Pantabangan PS and appropriate charges will be filed against him.
“Let this be a warning to those unscrupulous individuals that we really mean business as we implement COMELEC Gun Ban,” PCOL MENDEZ said. He further said that even those who are serving as bodyguards of politicians will not be exempted in the implementation of election laws in line with the directives of PBGEN MATTHEW P BACCAY, Regional Director, PRO3 to ensure safe, secured and peaceful elections in the entire Central Luzon. ###
